This is my first tutorial. Well, actually my first tutorial is the cocktail
apron, but since I use this binding making the apron, I decided to break it out into two tutorial, the binding and
the apron itself. I hope this all makes sense, the pictures aren't the best, but I think they help clear up what
I'm talking about. I use this same binding for all of my quilting as well.

1. Cut several lengths of your binding material into 4" wide strips. For the bottom of the apron you'll
need 25" and for the top of the apron anywhere between 60" and 75". Sew all of the strips into one long strip by just sewing each end to the
next. |

2. Iron all of the seams flat. I mostly use 100% cotton for the bindings, so I use the highest temp on
my iron with steam - the more steam the better. |

3. Fold the strip in half lengthwise so that the good side of the fabric is on the outside and iron so
that you have a nice crisp center crease - this is where the steam really comes in handy, the more defined this center crease is the easier the
rest of the process will be. |

4. Open up the strip so that the good side is down, fold each end up to the center crease and iron the fold only
so that you don't lose your center crease. I like to pin the ends to the center about ever 4" or so and then iron the entire length of my ironing board
at once. I used to hold the fold with my fingers and iron, but I was always burning myself with the steam, so I find using pins less painful. |

5. Bring the two newly creased edges of the strip together folding along the original center crease. The step just
reinforces all the creases in the binding. |

Ta-da! Now you have a nice stack of double-fold binding for any straight edged project. To made binding for rounded
projects, cut the 4" strips on the bias and sew them together on a slant, otherwise the rest of the tutorial is the same. |
